Bangalore, May 22: At last, the thrice postponed results of PUC Second year were announced here this morning.
The pass percentage in the examination held in March-April is 53.97 per cent. Announcing the results Minister for Primary and Secondary Education, Basavaraja Horatti expressed his happiness over the performance of the students saying that the percentage was a record for the last 10 years.
Giving details of the results, the Minister said a total of 4,70,793 candidates, including repeaters, had appeared in this year's examination and 2,31,048 had passed, with 7,067 securing distinctions.
Udupi tops the list
Udupi District has secured the top spot and Dakshina Kannada stood second in the results while Bidar secured the last position, he disclosed.
Re-totalling
The Minister also announced that the last date for re-totalling of marks was June 5. The students should pay a fee of Rs. 200 per answer script.
In case of revaluation, the fee per answer script was Rs. 300 and the last date for the same was May 30, he added.
Supplementary examination of the second Pre-University class would be conducted from July 3 to 15 and the last date for remitting the examination fee was June 10, he said.
Mysore dips to 15th place
Bangalore, May 22- Mysore District which was in 12th place with 52.85 per cent passes in PUC examinations last year, dipped to 15th place this year though it secured 53.64 per cent passes, the Minister Basavaraj Horatti explained.
