Bangalore: St Joseph’s College moves to provide coaching for civil services

Bangalore, Feb 7: The Jesuits-run St Joseph’s College (autonomous) in Bangalore is collaborating with the Karnataka Chapter of the Indian Institute of Public Administration by joining hands with the State Government’s Civil Services Coaching Institute(CSCI) to provide intensive coaching, training and guidance to meritorious candidates for joining the civil services.
The coaching classes will commence from February 24.
While meritorious candidates belonging to the socially and economically privileged section like Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes and Minorities will given free coaching, candidates belonging to all other categories will be charged fees.
Rigorous training and guidance for meritorious candidates will be provided by renowned academicians and experienced former civil servants. The coaching will be further enhanced through continuous monitoring and assistance by a panel of experts. Mock tests and interviews will regular features of the training. The selected candidates will be provided with facilities like fully equipped computer labs with internet and library besides necessary reading references.
Candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes and Minorities are required to furnish the necessary certificates.
There will be an entrance examination for selection of candidates, who shall have the minimum qualification of a degree from any recognized university, with priority of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes and Minorities.
The entrance examination will be held at the Post Graduate and Research Centre of the St Joseph’s College on Langford Road in Bangalore on Sunday, February 9 at 10 am.
Applications, however, have to be submitted by February 8 before 1 pm.

The selected candidates from the Entrance Examination will be called for an interview on February 16 at 10 am, and the final list of selected candidates will be announced on February 17. The coaching classes will commence from February 24.
