Beltangady, May 23: Rajesh (23) and Jayashree (15), residents of Paddalike of Nittade near Venur here who were in love with each other ended their life by consuming poison on Monday May 22 night.
Though they were found seriously ill in their respective homes on Monday night, it is suspected that they had gone to their house after consuming poison together somewhere outside on Monday evening.
Rajesh was the son of Prabhakar Acharya and Jayashree was the daughter of Nagesh Moolya. Both of them were in love with each other. But they were from two different castes. So their parents had opposed their marriage. Moreover, Jayashree was still a minor in age.
It is said that distressed by this they consumed poison and ended their life on Monday.
The Venur police have registered a case in this regard.
