Mangalore: 'Mane Manege Aam Aadmi' campaign by AAP

Media Release

Mangalore, Feb 13: In view of reaching out to the households in the district, the Dakshina Kannada unit of Aam Aadmi Party will launch its 'Mane Manege Aam Aadmmi, Mane Maneyalli Aam Aadmi’ (Common Man to Each Homes and Common Man in Each Home) Campaign from February 15. The day also signifies the completion of one year of launching the party in Dakshina Kannada.

The active members of the party will form into groups and will visit door to door to propagate the ideals and objectives of the party while creating awareness on the concept of Swaraj and good governance.

The Membership Drive organized by the party in the district has been very satisfying with over 10,000 people registering as members of AAP in the past one month. The membership has been mobilized through different means including SMS and online registrations, taluk level meetings and voluntary registrations of people reaching out to the AAP office. There have been membership mobilization meetings held in Mangalore, Puttur, Sullia, Moodabidri, Thokkottu, Bantwal and Belthangady.

The party has also streamlined its functioning by constituting various committees including Media Cell, Media Watch, Coordination, Planning, IT among others.

APP DK unit has taken up various issues of public interest and working towards addressing the same.

The situation in Ullal is the making of certain vested interests for political gains which the AAP condemns in strong words and urges the district administration to handle the issue with iron hand without any favouritism and budging to any pressure. We are convinced that the people of different communities are being incited for electoral gains.

The social problem of drug addiction and drug racket functioning in Ullal needs to be tackled effectively and that AAP will launch a sustained campaign against the same.

AAP has been actively involved in the fight against the Netravati diversion project which the Government is arrogantly going ahead in the name of Yethinahole Project. The party has been backing the like-minded civil society organizations who are striving to stop the project from being implemented. Similarly, AAP is strongly opposed to the Niddodi Power project and will work out strategies to pressurize the Government to drop the project.

AAP will take up individual issues like the widespread corruption in various works of the city corporation, roads and civic amenities among others to evolve logical solutions.
