Bhatkal: Student dies as goods rickshaw rams into bike

Bhatkal, Feb 15: Mohammed Afeef, a final year BCA student of Anjuman Institute of Management and Computer Application, and son of Nisaar Jushuddi, was killed in an accident on NH 66 at Ranginkatte here on Friday February 14.

On the night of Thursday February 13, all BCA final year students went for a picnic at Murdeshwar. The accident took place when Afeef was returning home.

Afeef was coming from Murdeshwer and was just a kilometer away from his house in Usman Nagar, when a speeding Tata Ace goods rickshaw hit his motorbike from behind.

Afeef sustained major injuries to his legs and spine. He was immediately rushed to Bhatkal Government Hospital in an auto rickshaw but he died on the way.

On hearing the news, S M Syed Khaleel ur Rahman, president, Anjuman Institute of Management and Computer Application, Jukaku Abdul Rahim, general secretary, Javeed Hussain Armar, secretary, College Board, principal, staff, and students offered condolences.

A case has been registered in the Bhatkal town police station.
