Udupi, May 24: The Excise police have arrested one person during a raid on spurious liquor unit at a house 76 Badagubettu village near Byloor here on Monday May 22.
The police have also seized a car, 750 litres of rush (fermented concentrate), 10 litres of spurious liquor, 25 litres of caramel liquid, 10 litres of essence, an empty steal drum during the raid. The police also recovered an empty Indane gas cylinder, a gas stove, hand capping machine, a weighing scale, 7,500 bottle lids, 11,250 duplicate lables, 2,500 security lables, 100 rolls of plastic covers used on the lids and a bicycle from the place.
The total value of the seized things is estimated at Rs 3 lac. While the police have arrested one Diwakar in this regard, another accused S Jayant alias Bhaskar of Sagar managed to escape.
