Kundapur: Pedestrian dies after being knocked down by JCB

Kundapur, Feb 15: In an incident which occurred on the evening of Thursday February 13 in front of Hosur high school near Kollur, a pedestrian lost his life, after having been knocked down by a JCB.

Narayan Kottary (54) from Kerady village in the taluk was walking towards his home from Hosur, when tragedy struck.

A JCB, which was moving towards Hosur from Kerady hit him hard. Kottary was grievously injured in the accident.

Arrangements were made to immediately take him to Kundapur hospital, but it is learnt he breathed his last before medical help could be extended.

The policemen believe that the accident occurred because of rash and negligent driving on the part of JCB driver, Deviprasad. A case stands filed against the JCB driver in Kollur police station. Investigation has been undertaken.
