Bhatkal: Elderly man from Udupi killed in car-lorry collision

Bhatkal, Feb 16: In a tragic incident an elderly person from Udupi was killed and three others were injured as their Alto car collided with a lorry on NH 66 near Manki here on Sunday February 16.
The deceased has been identified as Vasudev Prabhu (73).
The impact was such that the car, after colliding head-on with the lorry, flipped and fell over a bike that was parked nearby.
Vasudev Prabhu was killed on the spot. Krishnamurthy Vasudev Prabhu, Shakuntala Prabhu and Yogesh Prabhu, all residents of Udupi, were injured.
The Alto car was on its way to Kumta from Udupi and the lorry was plying towards Mangalore from Bijapur. The Alto was said to be speeding.
The injured were rushed to Honnavar government hospital.
A case has been registered in the Manki police station.
