Udupi, Feb 18: Under the leadership of ICYM Udupi deanery, ICYM Kuntalnagar unit organized a one day seminar program on ‘Government Sector Jobs’,in the mini hall at St Antony’s Church,Kuntalnagar on Sunday February 16.
The inaugural function was held at 9:15 am in the presence of the resource persons of the day George Pinto, deputy commissioner- enforcement ,intelligence and excise, Iola Tauro,officer-income tax , Fr.Edwin D’souza -director youth comission Udupi Diocese, Fr Denis D’sa- parish priest, St Antony’s Church Kuntalnagar , Fr Alban Dsouza , director – ICYM Udupi Deanery , Maxim D’sa - Animator,ICYM Udupi Deanery , along with the welcoming of guests and lighting the lamp.
Both the resource persons addressed the participants and the parents gathered about the importance and advantages of Government Jobs. Vinishiya Mendonca compeered the program.
The morning session began at 10:15 with the first talk by George Pinto followed by Iola Tauro. Both of them stressed the availability of Government jobs, the power and facilities they avail, the various posts present and the examination pattern.
There was also an interaction session in which the participants cleared their doubts regarding government sector jobs. Resource materials were provided to the participants. At the end of the session many of the youth were inspired towards government jobs.
The valedictory function was held at 12:30 pm; Fr.Edwin addressed the youth and stressed upon the importance of govt sector jobs and the youth as a resource for the welfare of the society.
Fr Alban D'souza spoke about the importance of conducting such programs for the youth. The resource persons were thanked by presenting them with a memento. The presence of Mr.Robert D'Sa , retired Soldier - Indian Army was recognized and he shared his experience. Amritha D'Silva , Secretary , ICYM Udupi deanery delivered the vote of thanks. Lunch was followed by the valedictory function.The noon session began at 2:00pm and was conducted by Dr.Manoj D’lima.All the youth present actively participated and enjoyed the games conducted by him.The noon session came to an end at 4:00pm along with the ICYM anthem.
The program was well organized under the guidance of Fr Denis D'sa nd was appreciated by the participants. About 75 youth were present and participated actively in the program.
