Mangalore, May 25: World-famous magician Jadugar Anand is all set to mesmerise the city with his magic shows from Friday May 26 to Sunday May 28 at Town Hall here. The show will be inaugurated by district in-charge minister B Nagaraj Shetty.

Speaking to reporters at a press conference here on Wednesday May 24, Anand said that the highlight of the show will be the bike ride from Town Hall to MG road blindfolded at 10 am on Thursday May 25. The main intention behind this ride was to create traffic awareness, he said. The ride will be flagged off by MLA Yogish Bhat.

The show will have several new attractions like disappearance of the replica of Statue of Liberty, appearance of an elephant, a male turning in to a female and Anand entering through a running fan.

He said that he has been on a tour of South India to perform as well as to learn and inculcate the South Indian culture in his art. Although he lauded the government for granting tax exemption for magic, he urged the government to assist magic shows financially. He also revealed the plans of setting up a Magic Academy in Bangalore to teach the art to eager learners.

Winner of several awards, Anand is the president of All India Magic Federation and has performed over 27,000 shows till date. His last visit to the city was in 2003.
