Kundapur: Hollywood actress ties the knot at Kollur Temple

Kundapur, Feb 20: In a rare event, a couple of American origin got married in pure Indian style at Sri Gopalakrishna temple in the presence of Sri Mookambika deity of Kollur on Thursday, February 20.

The couple between the ages of 30 to 35 years, are Jaimyse Haft and Cameroon. Bride Jaimyse, a Hollywood actress has acted in more than 80 films including in Lords of Underworld series and is also practicing Yoga. She has left the field of cinema and has accepted the devotional life, ultimately falling in love with Patanjali Yoga guru Cameroon.

Cameroon is practicing religion and Ayuruveda and runs a Yoga center at Los Angeles.  Jaimyse who got attracted to his teachings, came to Kerala along with Cameroon for traditional Ayurvedic study and meanwhile had visited local religious centers.

The friendship that developed in a camp, blossomed into love and culminated in marriage.

Priest Suresh Bhat led team administered the religious rites to the couple. Popular singers Sairam and Taylor Dayne, Thyron Catherina and others who were present, blessed the couple.

    Good that western people are following the Indian tradition of marriage and family life. Indian marriages are holy and we don't divorce even under the worst circumstances. We always carry on loving our spouses and live a happy life. I am happy that western people are following our philosophy.

    Dr. Kumari, your comments are true. We do not divorce, but compel our wife to suicide by harassing for dowry or we kill them if they do not live like a slave instead of a wife. Great culture.

    I give 5 years. who said divorce is not easy in America? yes, its very hard on men as they almost always end up losing everything yet many fools do get marry. In Europe, these days younger generation is does not give much importance marriage as an institution.

    Dude Sesappa, every part of the world claims that it has a rich and glorious tradition and culture! Be it Chinese or Greek!Indians are not the sole and only inheritors of cultural heritage. So do not belittle other countries culture. as for as this marriage is considered, they are not the first celebrity couples to have Hindu wedding. Russel brand and Katy Perry did it so were Arun Nayar and Elizabeth Hurley. As expected from celebrity couples, both pairs are divorced now! These Hollywood people try different means to be in the news. Marriage included. To say that they have embraced Hinduism soulfully is very naive.He is minting money via Yoga teaching which was never meant to be a money making business. They just want to try different things. That is why Temple premises should be spared from these attention seeking acts

    Have devotion,don the traditional wedding saree,get adorned by traditional jewelry and the 'pure radiance' is there for all to see!
    Had a look at the 'bridal' photos for the first time and doesn't she glow!!

    its not easy marrying and divorcing in America as you guys think. One becomes bankrupt after giving out the settlement to the spouse, but they live and take care of their kids. What is happening in Indian marriages, brides suicide for harassment or murder for dowry issues, killing their own kids so on & on

    Will they come to India when they divorce also?!! Given that more than 50 % marriages in average American families fail and more than 75 % marriages of Hollywood celebrities fail, it's sure that this marriage will take the same route. Kollur is a sacred place for many and the administration must not entertain all this drama just because they get some American dollars

    Please don't say they will end up in divorce just when they start their beautiful life journey together. Everything is sacred, even you, why shouldn't they get married in Kollur? Kollur mookambika is Adi Shankaras deity, Adishankara stands for advaitha, advaitha is beyond caste creed religion and temples, it sees god in every human, just like Jesus too told the disciples that the kingdom of god is within you, see from a larger perspective and get over this division mentality of reservation of a sacred place for a few...god bless.

    There's just Fun Factor to those foreigners who marry in Indian culture. They just go back to their own countries and be same again. Marrying in India to those is nothing but making life little more awesome with an adventure element. They don't really mean what they do.
