Mangalore, May 26: "All those who have lost their property, houses etc during the expansion of Bajpe Airport will be rehabilitated duly," said state minister for ports, fisheries and muzrai, B Nagraj Shetty.

He was speaking during the meeting of the displaced families held here on Thursday May 25.  A total of 8 families from Adyapady area complained that they were properly compensated for their land and property.

Deputy Commissioner Dr H V Parshwanath who was also present on the occasion said that the administration has taken all measures to compensate the displaced as per the norms laid down.  "We have taken a survey of these areas depending on which we have rehabilitated and compensated the families.  However, if there are still problems, we would surely look into it," he promised.

The minister also promised either to shift or repair the Adyapady school building which is in a bad shape right now.

Assistant commissioner Prabhakar Sharma and resident officer at DC's office A G Bhat were also present on the occasion.
