Mangalore: Refused leave, CISF soldier shoots himself to death

Mangalore, Feb 22: In a shocking incident, a CISF (Central Industrial Security Force) shot himself to death in the wee hours of Saturday February 22 at KT Gate near Panambur beach.

The deceased, identified as S S Sarkate (28) shot himself allegedly on being refused leave to spend time with his family in Maharashtra.

Sarkate was the son of Sopan Govinda Sarkate from Chandrapura village, Maharashtra. He was married only five months ago, sources said.

Preliminary investigations revealed that Sarkate leaned against a wall, held his rifle to his stomach and shot himself.

He as been serving since two years in Mangalore, sources said.

A case has been registered in Panambur police station.

    A week ago, there is a news a 14yrs boy jumped from the 7th floor and died, reason behind that his parents and teachers forced him to trim his hair, which is against the rules of the school it is shocking and very sad too, but I feel they don't have right to live in this world if they cannot face such silly things because life is not easy as they think and we should have courage to face problems and not to commit suicide and leave behind our beloveds to suffer

    i just to inform all human beings that everybody should think when someone needs to be with family at least allow them to be with whe they need to attend their family persons pls thks govt or any one should release them from their duties plse thks

    I am personally sad for such comments. We are not sure how this person has been treated by his seniors in the past and what was his domestic problem. Under what circumstances he was forced to accept this job and what kind of harassment he received will never be explained by his seniors now. All I say is, may his soul rest in peace.

    If this soldier was entitled to visit his family it should have been granted. What would prompt a 28 year old to take his life??? A young life lost... These are the boys we depend upon to protect us.

    very sad.with his Action he gained nothing but made his Young wife widow,and his parents lost their son for ever.sometimes a Little Patience would bring more .acting in effect is todays Young Generations Motto.Such People are not meant for soldier dutties.
