Mangalore, May 27: In spite of repeated cautions from the police and the newspapers, citizens continue to get cheated and looted.

An incident to prove the same, occurred near Central Market here on Friday May 26.

M Padmanabha Rao, a resident of Arya Samaj road, had arrived near Central Market here at 10.30 am in his Maruti 800 car. Just then a stranger of Tamil origin, showed Rao seven notes of Rs 10 each, fallen on the ground, and told the latter that his money had fallen on the ground

Assuming the money did belong to him, Rao bent down to pick the notes, whilst the stranger snatched the suitcase consisting of 100 grams gold worth Rs 2 lac and cash of Rs 70,000, that was in the car and fled.
