B'lore: Home minister meets Catholic bishops of Karnataka

Bangalore, Feb 23: K J George, Home Minister of Karnataka visited St Peter’s Pontifical Seminary, Bangalore, where the Karnataka Regional Catholic Bishops’ Council (KRCBC) annual meeting was held.

Bernard Moras, the Archbishop of Bangalore and chairman of KRCBC welcomed the Home Minister on behalf of all the Bishops and the Seminary.

Fr S Stanislas, the acting rector honoured the Home Minister with a shawl. The Archbishop presented to the Home Minister, in the presence of Fr A M Joseph, the director of Malayalam Academy the books published by the English and Malayalam Academies in loving memory of late Fr K J Thomas.

In his meeting with the Catholic Bishops of the State, the Home Minister assured that the State Govt stands with the Catholic Minorities of Karnataka. The Home Minister also promised that he will take the necessary steps to defend and uphold the rights of the Christian community in the State.

    Appreciate the meeting by the Home minister with KRCBC. However, nabbing the culprits in the KJ murder case and filing the charge-sheet against them irrespective of their background in mandatory for doing Justice in this case. I trust that the KRCBC will ever consider this as a priority.
