Kundapur: Truck knocks down cyclist

Kundapur, Feb 25: After a truck moving towards Maharashtra from Kerala hit a cyclist from behind on national highway 66 near Uppunda, Byndoor, on the evening of Monday February 24, the cyclist was killed on the spot.

The deceased has been identified as Ranga Devadiga (53) from Byndoor House in Uppunda village. It is gathered that Devadiga was moving to the house of his in-laws in Bijoor near Byndoor when the truck bearing Kerala registration number hit him from behind near Nambiar Clinic in Uppunda. Devadiga lost his life instantly, as his hit banged against the road due to the impact of the accident.

The truck driver escaped from the scene of the accident. A case was registered in Byndoor police station.
