Mangalore, May 28 (Sunday, 12-05 pm): The non-stop rains which hit DK district have taken its toll. Rains continue to pour causing damage to life and property.
On Sunday morning a house collapsed at Babugudde, Attavar killing Narayan who was sleeping in the house.
In the wee hours of the day, the compound wall near his house collapsed on the wall of the house. Narayan was caught under the rubble and succumbed to injuries and suffocation.
His brother Ashok who was sleeping in the same room had a providential, unscathed escape.
Narayan was temporarily employed as a bus driver. He is survived by his wife and two children, a boy and a girl, the second being barely two months old.
The police, fire brigade and the locals jointly worked to clear the rubble and recover Narayan's body.
