SCDCC Bank distributes RuPay Kissan Card, RuPay Debit Card

Mangalore, Feb 26: "The card will benefit all 9,500 farmers of the undivided district. SCDCC is the first bank in the state to implement this project under the co-operation of NABARD. This scheme was a dream to provide ATM card access and debit cards to farmers on an equal footing with customers of other commercial banks. The pass machine access will be provided in all 600 branches. These cards can be used in any other commercial bank for the purpose of business,” said M N Rajendra Kumar, president, South Kanara District Central Co-operative Bank (SCDCC Bank).

He was addressing the press in a symbolic programme held to release and distribute RuPay Kissan Card and RuPay Debit Card at SCDCC head office on Tuesday February 25.

“This RuPay Kissan Card and RuPay Debit Card can be used at any of the ATMs across the nation. A total of 600 micro ATM machines will be installed in all SCDCC bank branches including 166 primary co-operative groups for financial transactions. Customers can obtain money and also deposit money into their account through this machine,” he added.

“Our bank has planned to install internet banking and IMPS (Inter Bank Mobile Payment System).  We also provide ‘Aadhar’ linkage to the customer’s account which will be useful to them. In future, we would like to extend this facility to bank customers. This scheme will be profitable to the nation’s economy,” added Kumar.

G R Chintal, chief general manager, National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), after releasing and distributing the RuPay Kissan Card said,“SCDCC is the first co-operative bank to provide access of RuPay Kissan Card and RuPay Debit Card to farmers with CBS facility. In VISA and Master card transactions Rs 6.5 of the income goes to foreign countries.  This transaction costs only 40 paisa per transaction which will increase the  income of the country. People of the rural area should not be deprived of the facility that urban people have.”  

On this occasion, Rajendra Pujar, deputy general manager, IDBI Bank, distributed the RuPay Debit Card.

On this occasion, SCDCC bank officials Vinay Kumar Soorinje, Rajaram Bhat, B Niranjan, Venkataswamy, and Gopla Krishna Bhat were present.
