Mangalore, May 29: A female staff of Public Works Department of the city ended life along with her three-month-old baby girl by jumping into the well at Surabhi Colony of Nullipady of Kasargod here on Saturday May 27 evening.

M Sandhya (34) was a staff in the PWD here.  However, she was on leave for the last 3 months after her delivery.  So she was in her husband Baburaj's house at Surabhi Colony.  On Saturday evening Baburaj had gone out to bring medicine. So there was no one else in the house.  Taking advantage of this, Sandhya is said to have jumped into the nearby well.

So far no reasons have been known for her suicide.  Her husband Baburaj is a teacher in a primary school at Kasargod.  The couple also has a seven-year-old son Prajwal.

Sandhya was supposed to report to duty from Monday May 28.  But just before that she ended her life along with her baby.

The police are investigating the case.
