Bangalore, May 29: A theft involving 16 lac om cash along with many valuables from former state minister H D Revanna's house at Holenarasipur has been reported to the police on May 28.

H D Revanna is the son of former prime minister H D Deve Gowda and brother of state chief minister H D Kumaraswamy.

The house "Channambika Nilaya" is situated adjacent to 'Channambika' Theatre in Holenarasipur.  The manager of the theatre Chandrashekhar in his complaint to the police has stated that the missing items included 16 lac in cash, 1.9 kg gold ornaments, 205 kg. silver items and many electronic appliances.

A finger of suspicion has been pointed at Ashok, (27) a handyman who was working with them for quite a few years.  As usual, after cleaning the house, Ashok locked the front door and handed over the keys to Revanna's wife. 

However, it is alleged that he left the back door unlocked, entered the house and carried away the goods at night.
