M'lore: Student cabinet inaugurated at St Theresa’s School

Mangalore, Mar 2: The investiture ceremony of the new junior cabinet for the year 2014-1015 of St. Theresa’s School, Bendur, Mangalore, was held on February 26 at 8:45 am in the school precincts.

Roshan Castelino, President, Sparsha Social Service Centre, Mangalore was the chief guest along with Sister Premitha Principal of the school and Lynette Fernandes vice president of the PTA.

The propitious day began with a prayer song followed by the welcome speech by the Principal.

The bugle call announced the beginning of the investiture ceremony and the present cabinet members along with the junior section marched sprightly and majestically in sync with the beats of the school band. Sr Anita, the Vice Principal conferred the handing over ceremony wherein the outgoing cabinet members handed over their badges and sashes and transferred their responsibilities to the newly appointed members.

Principal Sr Premitha administered the oath taking ceremony. The student council took pledge to hold the school motto ‘Bloom forth in love for love’ in high esteem and to fulfill their duties impartially.

It was indeed a defining moment for the entire senate. The atmosphere was electrifying with anticipation as the Principal, teachers and parents congratulated the new junior student council members.

Prithika Correa expressed her feelings on behalf of the outgoing cabinet members and Keith Warren Mathias expressed his sentiments on behalf of the newly elected cabinet members.

Roshan Castelino, the chief guest enthused the students and the young leaders to keep the St Theresa’s School flag flying high while discharging their duties honestly and impartially.

The activity in charge teachers for the junior section,  Safrina along with  Sunatra Weltha announced the overall performance of the houses and Sr Premitha awarded the Red House as toppers followed by the Green house as runners up.

There was a traditional dance and a fusion dance to enhance the beauty and joy of the ceremony.

Lynette Baptist proposed the vote of thanks and the ceremony concluded with the National Anthem.

The entire program was competently compeered by Veena Saldanha and Kavitha.
