Mangalore, Mar 4: Roy Castelino, newly appointed president of Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy was felicitated by Mandd Sobhan on March 2.

Roy Castelino was felicitated by Raghunath Shet, proprietor of S L Shet Jewellers and the chief guest of the programme at the 147th ‘Mainyali Manchi’, a monthly programme held at Kalaangan by Mandd Sobhan.  Raghunath Shet is also the president of Konkani Bhasha Mandal.

Roy Castelino who spoke after receiving the award assured that he will work for the all round development of Konkani.  He also called for the company of the gathered for his success.

A website www.konkaniprachar.com prepared by E Creators organization of Vincent Mascarenhas, Moodbidri was inaugurated on the occasion. An appeal for collection of funds for the Konkani prachar sanchalan was also inaugurated on the occasion.

Mandd Sobhan president Luvi Pinto, Gurkar Eric Ozario, Vittori Karkala and Konkani Prachar Sanchalan secretary Anil D’ Cunha were present on the dais. Stany Alvares compered the programme.

Mando songs and dance programme titled ‘Mando Fest’ by 250 artistes from Derebail led by Anil Patrao was presented as part of Mainyali Manchi.
