Mangalore: Stany Alvares to lead Konkani Prachar Sanchalan

Mangalore, Mar 5: Stany Alvares has been appointed the new president of Konkani Prachar Sanchalan.
Stany Alvares was chosen as president by the executive committee of Konkani Prachar Sanchalan on Tuesday March 4 at Kalaangann, Shaktinagar.
The new appointment was made necessary as Roy Castelino, who was holding the post of president, was appointed to lead Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy by the government
Stany Alvares has been a Konkani activist for the last 25 years and he is also a well-known actor. He has served as the president of Mandd Sobhann for two terms.
He is also the vice-president of Congress Minority Cell of Dakshina Kannada district. He also engages in religious and social works.
