Kasargod: Saudi accident - Death toll rises to five as family loses another member

Kasargod, Mar 7: In more tragedy for the family from Kubanoor near Uppala which lost four persons including a one-year-old child in an accident during Umrah pilgrimage to Mecca, another person of the family has succumbed to injuries.
The deceased, identified as Nisha Taj (28), a native of Mudipu, was the wife of Abdul Latif, who too died in the accident that occured at Mushail, about 60 km from Riyadh in Saudi Arabia on Sunday March 2.
With this the number of people who died in the accident has gone up to 5.
Abdul Rehman Arabi (63) from Kedakkar in Kubanoor, his wife Ayeshabi (52), their son Abdul Latif (32), and Latif’s son, Lisaan (1) had died on the spot in this accident. Nisha, her children Lasaan and Lihaan, as well as Nisha’s brother Nisaar had suffered injuries and were admitted to a local hospital. Nisha breathed her last later on. The children and another relative Haris are said to be recovering in a private hospital.
Meanwhile the mortal remains of the four persons who had died earlier were laid to rest at Umm al Hamam burial ground on Friday, March 7. Nisha was seriously injured in the head and did not recover from it.
The accident occurred when their car hit a divider while on their way back from Mecca. The family had gone to Mecca on February 27 to perform Umrah.
Abdul Latif, who was employed as manager at Fasa International company was staying in Riyadh for the last twelve years. His parents had come to Riyadh a month ago on visit visa. His wife and children had come to Riyadh three years ago.
