Mangalore, June 2: Stephen D'Silva (30), working as a helper in the paddy fields of Donald Castelino at Shaktinagar here, died after accidentally falling into a water-logged field on the night of May 31.
The incessant rains here had resulted in fields getting filled with water. D'Silva is said to have been returning home and slipped into the field with his face down. He might have died immediately, the rural police said.
He originally hailed from Sanoor, Karkala and staying with the Castelino household.
