Beltangady, Mar 9: Relating to a complaint of assault and posing death threat to a lady allegedly for speaking to an unknown person, Beltangady police, on Saturday March 8, arrested three men and produced them in court.

Auto rickshaw driver, Iqbal, agent, Rafique, and Hussain Kannadikatte, have been named as accused in the case. Zulaika from Allaje in Navoor village had, in her police complaint, said that she was accosted by a gang of ten persons including the above three, when she was waiting for a vehicle to reach her house in Nandibetta on Tuesday.

“They questioned me where I had been to, and to whom I had spoken. They hit my cheek, forcibly made me to sit in the auto rickshaw, and brought me to Kannadikatte. Once there, several people again assaulted me and seized my cell phone. They demanded me to show the houses of my parents and husband. I was also threatened by them of being killed by pushing down from Beltangady Bridge. Thereafter, they dropped me off near my home, and before returning too they attacked me,” she had said in her complaint.
