Dubai, June 2: Udentichim Neketram, an association of twelve parishes of Mangalore Diocese in the UAE celebrated its annual day on June 2, 2006 at Sudanese Club, Dubai. The event also marked to pay homage to its founder member Jossy Cardoza who died in a tragic road mishap on March 15, 2006 in Dubai.

During the programme, Rudolph Sanctis took over new president of the association, replacing Arun D`Costa, sho successfully guided the association during the first year.

The inauguration was marked by lighting of the lamp by Konkani community's spiritual director in Dubai Fr Frederick D`Souza along with the leaders and representatives of 12 parishes of the association.

Praveen Sequeira, one of the founder-members of the association paid rich tributes to Jossy Cardoza in his emotion-packed speech.

Walter Sequeira narrated  the first year's achievement of the association in the annual report

Fr Freddy spoke on the occasion and congratulated the team on their efforts and asked their members to continue through unity and integrity.

Skits, dances, songs, spot prizes and tombola (Housie) were the part of annualcelebration.

Arun Carlo, Vincent Fernandes and Asha Pinto rendered some konkani hit songs.
