The assaulted youth is identified as Abdul Razak (29).  It is reported that the SI who called the youth, asked the youth to come to the police station asking for him or asked him to 'pay something'.

Razak who did not agree for it, was hit by the SI on the chin and the nose of Razak.  The injured Razak who got himself admitted to the government hospital at Udupi has given a complaint to the police regarding the incident.

The SI had tried for a compromise while Razak was in the hospital. However, the SI has lodged a counter complaint against Razak and his younger brother Rameez(26) at the Kaup Police station that they obstructed the SI when he was discharging his duties at Katpadi's Palligudde grounds.  The police have arrested Razak as he was discharged from the hospital.
