Bangalore, Jun 3 (8-45 pm): Fr Henry Madtha, director of the Jeevan Jyoti prayer team, was involved in a road accident near Hassan noon on Saturday and is now lying in a critical condition with head injuries in St John's Medical College Hospital here.

Fr Madtha was travelling in a jeep with two religious sisters from Bangalore to Magge. At Hirisave around 11-30 am , the jeep was hit head-on by a truck with a north Indian registration. Fr Madtha was severely injured in the head. He was admitted to the Adi Chunchanagiri hosptial at Bellur and was under treatment until 1 am. Then he was moved to Bangalore and was admitted to St John's around 5 pm.

He is currently under ventilator support. He is under observation and the doctors will be able to give a report by Sunday morning.
