Mangalore: Father Muller Institution, Graduation ceremony to be held on Mar 13

Mangalore, Mar 11: "The Institution day and Graduation ceremony of the Father Muller Charitable Institution is to be held on March 13 at the Father Muller Stadium," said Fr Rudolph Ravi D’Sa, administrator of FMMC, addressing the media at the press club, here on Tuesday March 11.

Father Muller Charitable Institution is an organization established in 1880 founded by Father Augustus Muller. The Institution with its motto ‘Heal and Comfort’ is committed to bring health care solace to suffering humanity. For over a century Father Muller Charitable Institutions has helped to shape the health care system and education in this area.

628 graduates from different streams will be celebrating their success. It is an honor for the institution as there are 266 students graduating from Father Muller Medical College, 81students from Father Muller Homeopathic Medical College, 178 from Father Muller Medical College of Nursing, 85 students from Father Muller School of Nursing, 18 students from Father Muller College of speech and hearing.

The achievements of 61 outstanding students who have secured ranks in the university examinations will also be recognized. These include 7 MBBS students and 10 postgraduate students of different specialties from Father Muller Medical College, 16 students from Allied Health Science courses, 11 students from Physiotherapy, 7 undergraduate students and 6 postgraduate students from homeopathic medical college, 3 students from college of nursing who have secured ranks in Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences examination for the year 2013 and one student from Father Muller College of speech and hearing who has secured rank in the Mangalore University Examination for the year 2013.

Dr V M Katoch, secretary, department of health research, Government of India and director general, Indian Council of Medical Research will be the chief guest. Dr Anil K D’Cruz, director, Tata memorial hospital Mumbai will be the guest of honour. Dr Aloysius Paul D'Souza, Bishop of Mangalore Diocese will preside over the event, he added.

Prof Narasaimman Swaminthan, Dr Uday Kumar, Dr Shivaprasad K and Sr Winnired D’Souza were also present on the press meet.
