Kundapur: Annual day held at Gurujyoti Sports Club Gangolli

Kundapur, Mar 12: “Parents are giving more and more importance to education now. Young children now-a-days face lot of pressure to excel in schools. This pressure can have adverse affect on their minds. The parents should help the children to grow both mentally and physically by encouraging them to get involved with extracurricular activities,” advised Dr Roshan Kumar, Udupi district assistant director in the department of youth empowerment and sports.

He was speaking after presiding over the 60th annual day function of Sri Gurujyoti Sports Club Gangolli near here, held recently in KFDC premises at Gangolli in the taluk.

Assistant director of fisheries at Gangolli, Ganesh K, manager of Gangolli Primay Fishermen’s Cooperative Society, Mohan Kharvi, Gangolli gram panchayat president, Reshma R Kharvi, entrepreneur from Kundapur, Ganesh Byndoor, and editor of ‘Suddimane’ publication, Santosh Koni, extended their best wishes to the school.

On this occasion, international level weight lifter, Vishwanath Ganiga, and Pranay Kumar Shetty, who has been chosen to play tennikoit at the national level, were felicitated. Neelavati S Kharvi, G Sooryakanth Kharvi, founder member of Gangolli Primary Fishermen’s Cooperative Society, and honorary president, G Vijaya Kharvi, were present.

President, G Chandrakant Kharvi, welcomed. General secretary, Srinivas Kharvi, presented the report. Akshay Hegde presented the programme. Veena S Kharvi proposed vote of thanks.
