Moodbidri: Carpenter goes missing, two-wheeler, clothes, found abandoned

Moodbidri, Mar 13: The motor bike, clothes, and some other items belonging to a person who had gone missing from his wife’s home three days back, were found at Majjiguri in Puttige village near here late evening on Tuesday March 11.

Umesh Acharya from Kulai Mangalore used to do carpentry work in a shed at Majjiguri in Puttige. He used to travel to Puttige from Kulai, and then visit his wife’s home at Kallamundkoor in the evening. On March 10, he had left his wife’s home in Kallamundoor, telling the family members that he was going to Kulai.

During police investigation, the motor bike belonging to Acharya was found fallen inside the stone quarry at Majjiguri. His footwear, a knife, clothes, and sacred thread were also found. No other clues about the whereabouts of Acharya were available.

Acharya’s wife is pregnant now. The couple already has a daughter.
