Beltangady: Six injured in Scorpio - auto rickshaw collision

Beltangady, Mar 14: Six persons were injured on Thursday March 13, after two vehicles, Mahindra Scorpio, and auto rickshaw got involved with a collision at Santekatte here.

It is learnt that an auto rickshaw that was passing by the side of the Scorpio turned turtle after hitting the door of the parked vehicle that was open at the time. Abdul Karim, Razia, Shameema, Bhoja, Shahina, and Shakeena, who were travelling in the rickshaw, were injured. The nature of injuries suffered by Bhoja are learnt to be grave.

The injured persons were rushed to the hospital, and people who witnessed the accident, got angry at the recklessness of the driver of Scorpio. They tried to assault him, but a few intervened and struck truce. Traffic on highway was disrupted for sometime thereafter.

Beltangady police have registered a case and investigation is on.
