Mangalore, Mar 14: 'Kalvarir Rajisandaan' - a book containing reflections on the Way of the Cross was released on March 12 by Fr Pius James D’Souza, Carmelite, the Episcopal Vicar for Religious, Diocese of Mangalore at Infant Jesus Shrine, Bikarnakatte - Mangalore.

Young poet and writer, Br Joseph Cyril D’Souza, a Carmelite theology seminarian, known by his pen-name ‘Jocy Siddakatte’ has penned 3 sets of reflections on the Way of the Cross which is a Christian penitential practice of the season of Lent.

Since this year is the Year of Reconciliation in the diocese of Mangalore, this book contains reflections centred on the theme of Reconciliation. It also answers questions on the sacrament of Confession that arise in the minds of the younger generation, and a collection of short poems titled Kalvariche Kalsintle. Fr. Stephen Pereira, OCD editor of Naman Ballok Jesu monthly compeered the program.

Jocy Siddakatte, who won the Kitall Yuva Puraskar - 2011 has published two collections of his poems titled Pausa Dhonn (2008) and Moran Sandleli Pakam (2011). His recent book U-Turn, a collection of thought-provoking articles written in his monthly column under the same name in the Noman Ballok Jezu magazine, was published in December 2013 and in a month all the thousand copies printed were sold out. Jocy Siddakatte serves as the Asst. Editor of Naman Ballok Jezu, a Konkani Magazine.
