Bangalore, Mar 14: Six members of the notorious Dandupalya gang, who were facing charges of raping and robbing women in various parts of Karnataka, and killing them by slitting their throats, have escaped from the proverbial noose. These cases had been reported from Mysore, Tumkur, Bangalore, Hassan and Hubli.

Krishna Venkatesh alias Chandra, Hanuma alias Dodda Hanuma, Venkatarama, Timma alias Koti Timma, Chikka, and Muniyappa had been awarded death sentence by the lower court. A division bench of the high court (HC), which has annulled verdict passed by the lower court, has absolved all these gang members of all the charges levelled against them.

In its judgement, the bench said that the accused have already spent 17 years in jail, and hence, ordered the concerned to release them immediately if their presence is no more required for interrogation, investigation, and or other purposes relating to any other cases.

These people had been charged with various offences as above, which had occurred between 1996 and 2000. The 34th special court situated at Parappana Agrahara Jail premises here had awarded death sentence to all of them. It had also recommended to the high court to confirm the death sentence.

The division bench of the high court comprising Justice K Bhaktavatsala and Justice K N Keshavanarayana found no substance or merit in the findings recorded in the judgement and absolved all the six persons of these charges. The bench found that the police have failed to provide direct evidences of rape, murder, robbery etc against these people. It said that the police had merely concluded that the accused had killed these women, based on the fact that gold ornaments were recovered from their possession.

What direct evidence for rape, murder and robbery? The court should tell what direct evidence it require? The police r also humans. The court should inquire the case itself and find out the real culprits , if it is not satisfied by police evidence. Come on staying in top security these people put common man in danger.

It is a painful and sorry state of affairs to see that in many cases, police are trained to ruff up and to give a litany of bad words. They are not trained to the real legal investigation. The police department are to work in everything. in majority of the stations they are no proper staff to manage and handle the crimes. No proper training as well as time is given for investigation. many times there is pressure from the victim side for fast investigation, if not pressurized from the top brasses.on many occasions the lower class police are to act as per the order of their superiors, political interference also blocks the real investigation. Many times the surviving victims are going away from the original statements, as such the litigations are delayed and the courts and investigating departments are targeted. Now a days it has become a passion for the NGO to interfere in the matters and spoil the cases.

The NGo are mainly working with some agenda of their own and they would pressurize the investigation to meet their agenda, and that in many a times to make the things easy if one pers is involved in one type of cases then any similar case is found the investigation throws all weights on that person and slaps all the cases on him or them. Sometimes ones a person uses some method to commit crime many times similar methods are used in other crimes by other criminals and whoever is caught first the rest of the crimes are slapped on him or them under the pretext of saying the same or similar modus operandi is used. And finally, when it comes to Court the real fact is exposed and the final result is the court is helpless in giving the real justice for the really deserving victims.

    Useless Karnataka Police!!

Anyone with sane mindset would have extracted the necessary proofs and evidences from the culprits by now. Moreover the way of killing cannot be attributed to someone with a sound mind. Police should have had the culprits analyzed by some psychologists. Atlease they would be in a mental asylum not roaming free.
    Yatha Sarkara, tatha policaa!

What nonsense law of India? Everybody knows their heinous activities all over Karnataka. How the police demonstrates the proof of rape, Murder, theft as eye witness inside the court? Who is ready to go against these dangerous criminals? If our state government is honest should go to the Supreme court against the verdict. There is something wrong.

If police are strict, then nothing wrong will take place India. Police should be like Hilter or Saddam Hussain to act on the culprits. They should shiver to do any wrong in the future. Police should smash the front teeth of all culprits. Then trial should begin.

It's time the Government Appeal this Crude Jolt to Peace Loving People in Supreme Court.
Police need to collect forensic evidence to prove beyond doubt these crimes, then only these criminals can face the gallows.
But the High Court erred in concluding the possession of golden ornaments of murdered & raped women as not conclusive proof!
I wonder in the future all convicts can appeal they too be absolved of the murder charges by mere possession of gold doesn't prove they are the murderers based on this judgment.
The movie based on these criminals has shown how Police, Politicians & Advocates join hands in protecting these criminals while using them to eliminate their rivals.
