Mangalore Mar 15: "We should give special importance and work hard for the forthcoming Loksabha elections. In Karnataka we are used to various elections the LS elections are vital in terms of national interest. The decision we take during this election will help us develop our country better," said MLA Sunil Kumar.

He was addressing the gathering after inaugurating the workshop for election management committee of BJP in Sanghanikethan here on Saturday March 15.

He  further said “The opinion of people  against Congress has changed. In 2009 Prime Minister Manmohan Singh assured the people that there will be no rise in price if the Congress government comes for second time but today the common man if finding it difficult to buy basic needs. The Congress has failed to standardise national and economic policies. The Nation is facing several challenges from Pakistan, China and Bangladesh. Moreover, there are a lot of internal problems such as the rise of Naxalites”

Commenting on the state government and its minister, Sunil Kumar said “Keeping Mangalore as a base for his terrorist activities, Yasin Bhatkal plotted the various blasts through the country. But Mangalore failed to file FIR. Though there are three ministers for Dakshina Kannada, the district hasn’t seen any developmental workers instead they are supporting the violence recent which took place various places”.

Taking a dig at Congress leaders Sunil Kumar said “The Congress party from several years pleaded for votes in the name of the ‘Gandhi family’. Instead of showing survey's to other parties let them correct their own party”.

On this occasion MLC Captain Ganesh Karnik was welcomed. Former MLA Rukmayya Poojary offered a condolence speech for the passing away of S Mallikarjunaiah.

BJP district president Prthap Simha Nayak, former ministers Krishna Palemar, Nagaraj Shetty and others were also present.

Prior to the workshop inauguration Monappa Bhandary addressed the press meet.

MLC Monappa Bhandary said “Congress government is trying to invoke the Goonda act and Rowdy sheet on Hindu organization leaders who work to protect the culture of this nation through the police department.  The activities of HJV, BD, Samrakshana Samithi are targeted for Goonda Act and Rowdy Sheet. Congress has also dropped out names of rowdies from  lists now and they will update this list soon. Did the old list rowdies become so innocent? To invoke Goonda act or rowdy list, police have to follow certain norms and conditions. This is the tactic of Congress government to create fear among the activities and stop them from supporting BJP. The Government should withdraw the  names of Hindu organizations especially the youth who  fought to save the culture of this land” he added.

Sanjeeva Matandoor, Diwakar Samani, Kishore Rai and others were present during this meet.
