Udupi: Br Richard D'Souza elected president of SSVP, Kallianpur

Udupi, Mar 17: Bro Richard D’Souza of Milagres Cathedral, Kallianpur was elected president of the newly formed Society of St Vincent de Paul of Kallianpur Particular Council from April 2014.

After the formation of Udupi Diocese, Udupi  Diocese Central Council separated from Mangalore Diocese Central Council. The Conference of Kallianpur Deanery will form a separate area council from Udupi Particular Council with effect from April 2014.

The Kallianpur Particular Council which set up recently at the Ozanum Home for the Aged mini conference Hall. Udupi Diocese Central Council president Br Gracian Buthello, Udupi Particular Council president Br Boniface D’Souza, secretary BrFredrick Sequeira, Trustee’s of Ozanum, Kallianpur Deanery officials and others were present during the election.

Other office bearers elected to the Kallianpur Particular Council are Br Denis D’Souza of Mount Rosary and Sr Celestine D’Almieda  of Brahmavar as vice presidents,  Br Donath Lewis of Mount Rosary as secretary and Br Felix Pinto of Kemmannu as treasurer.

At present Richard D’Souza serving as president of the Society of Vincent de Paul, Milagres Cathedral Conference. He is also the designate president of Catholic Sabha Milagres Cathedral unit.

Formerly he served as the general secretary of Catholic Sabha Udupi and the secretary of Catholic Sabha, Kallianpur Deanery as well. At present he works as a journalist for press media as well as electronic media.
