Udupi, Jun 6: A newborn baby was found abandoned near the Bobbarya Katte of Badanidiyoor village here on Monday June 6.
The girl child was found wrapped in swaddling clothes and placed near the water stream at Bobbarya Katte. The doctors who examined the baby later were of the opinion that the baby was born only a couple of days ago.
So far other details such as who are the parents or why the child was abandoned are not known. While some were of the opinion that the child might have been born owing to pre-marital pregnancy, it is also presumed that it might have been abandoned since it is a girl child.
The child has now been handed over to the custody of the town police.
