Udupi, Jun 6: The World Environment Day on Monday June 5 was celebrated by Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) with a decision to plant 5000 saplings in its campus.
There was also a rally from the New University building to End Point, passing through Tiger circle, KMC entrance, Kasturba Hospital Foundation Plaza and Manipal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences. The rally, in which about 500 schoolchildren took part, was flagged off by MAHE vice-chancellor H S Ballal.
Vanamahotsava programme was organised to mark the occasion at the end of the rally.
