Udupi, Jun 7: Brig Surjit Singh Pabla has taken over as the new director of Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT).
Brig Surjit Singh secured his M Tech in mechanical engineering from IIT Mumbai in 1983 and then secured his PhD from the same institute in 1999. In between he had served the Indian Army for 33 years. He also has the experience of shouldering various responsibilities in Punjab and Pune Universities.
Before taking over as the director of MIT he was the director of Sikkim-Manipal Institute of Technology. The Manipal Institute of Technology sources also said that he would also shoulder the responsibility of vice chancellor MAHE.
