Dubai: Stany Bela is new president of Emirates Konkans

Dubai, Mar 23: Popular Konkani writer, poet and community youth leader Stany Bela has been elected the president of Emirates Konkans Kasargod, UAE (EKKU) for 2014-2016.

He is an eminent leader of Kasargod who has led various social associations and is an active leader of youth wing of a leading political party in Kerala.

Emirates Konkans Kasargod, UAE is an association of Konkani speaking community of Kasargod deanery that represents 13 parishes of Mangalore diocese under this deanery. The association started in 2011 and currently it consists of more than 200 energetic members.


The election which was recently held at Sharjah also elected the following office-bearers for the next tenure.

Secretary : Laila D'Souza
Treasurer : Vincent D'Souza
Joint secretary : Shanthi D'Souza
