Moodbidri, Jun 8: The silver jubilee of Adarsh High, Taccode near here, was celebrated here on Thursday June 8 morning. The programme was inaugurated by Fr Wilson D'Souza, secretary, Catholic Board of Education, who presided over the function.

The founder convener of the school and present parish priest of Anjelore Church Fr Stany B Lobo laid the foundation of the new building to mark the silver jubilee.

Addressing the gathering, he said that 25 years ago the school experienced serious problem of drop-outs, as there was lack of financial support. The committee then decided to build a high school and today its alumni are scattered all over the world.

Among those present were Moodbidri block education officer Cyprian Monteiro, Taccode parish vice president Gregory Mendes, Taccode parish priest Hilary Lobo and Sunder, a former student of the school.

Valerian Moras, headmaster of the school, welcomed the gathering and announced the launch of a 15-lac project while appealing to the former students of the school to donate generously for the cause.

Srinivas Achar proposed the vote of thanks and Shikaripura Eshwara Bhat compered. SDMC President Sadashiva Bhat was present on the dais.
