Kundapur, Jun 8: A report has been received of a vain theft attempt at the Kavradi Cooperative Bank near here made on Thursday June 8 morning.
The thieves who entered the bank after breaking open the shutters have managed to break open the shutter of the safe locker room too. However, they failed in their attempt of opening the safe locker.
The theft attempt might have taken place in the small hours of Thursday. Their best efforts having failed to work in their favour, they appeared to have left the place totally frustrated.
The theft attempt came to light on Thursday morning when the bank staff reported to work. Immediately the police were summoned to the spot. The DCIB police led by sub inspector Shivanna too arrived. Sniffer dogs too were summoned later in the day.
The police are on the trail to nab the culprits.
