Udupi, Jun 9:
The district may have received heavy rainfall, but the problem of scarcity of water still bothers some parts of the district. The roads also abound with potholes as a consequence of unfinished repair works. With all these problems, its time for city councillors to begin the blame game.

At the municipal council meeting held on Thursday June 8, it was the contractors and council officers who were at the receiving end. Ruling party councillor Leela R Amin blamed the contractors for their irresponsibility in leaving work unfinished. In response to this, MLA Raghupati Bhat promised that such contractors would be blacklisted.

During the meeting, a decision was taken to form a committee of five members to plan the course of action for Rs 1.05 crore granted to the city under the 12th Finance Plan to maintain bridges and roads within the council limits.
