Mangalore, Mar 28: The Department of Pathology, Father Muller Medical College will host the second annual conference of Indian Academy of Cytologists – Karnataka Chapter (IAC-KC CON) on March 29 and March 30, stated Dr Hilda Fernandes, organizing chairperson of IAC-KC CON, professor & Head, Department of Pathology, addressing the media persons in the press club, here on Thursday, March 27.

The inauguration will begin on March 29 at 10:30 am at the Decennial Memorial Hall, Knowledge Centre, Father Muller Charitable Institutions.

Dr.I Karunasagar, senior fishery officer (Rtd) and food safety consultant, a Food and Agriculture Organization of United Nations will preside over the programme as the chief guest including Fr Patrick Rodrigues, director, FMCI.

"The cytologists have created a common platform to share their experiences and ideas on various topics on the subject. It is an effort to reinvent themselves. It is an opportunity for each one of them to have an insight and walk an extra mile to enhance and enrich their knowledge. Guest lectures, slide seminars and workshop on immunocytochemistry will be the highlights of the conference. In order to have a better input on the topic there will also be oral and poster scientific presentations," she added.

Dr Jayaprakash C S, organizing secretary of IAC-KC CON and professor, department of Pathology and Dr Umashankar T,  professor, Department of Pathology were also present on the occasion.
