Bantwal, Jun 9: A student who had failed in the PUC exams ended her life by consuming poison on Wednesday June 7 at Punacha near Vittal here.

Anita (17), daughter of Vittal Rai of Punacha was the student of Vivekananda College of Puttur.  She had failed in two subjects of commerce in the PUC exams this year.  This had frustrated here.  However, she was not showing any of her feelings with the family members and was living a normal life.

On Monday June 5 she had come home after shopping and was eating jackfruit along with the family members when she suddenly complained about stomach ache.  She was immediately taken to a private clinic at Punacha from where she was shifted to Chetana Hospital at Puttur.  However, the doctors at Chetana Hospital asked the family members to take her to A J Hospital in Mangalore.

The doctors at A J Hospital confirmed that she had consumed insecticide owing to which she had taken ill.  Though she was given treatment, she breathed her last on Wednesday.

The Vittal police have registered a complaint in this regard.
