Beltangady, Jun 10: Rajesh, a member of the Madantyar gram panchayat was assaulted on Friday June 9. He has sustained serious injuries.
It is learnt that one Vittal Shetty, managing trustee of Parenki Mahishamardhini Temple near Madantyar and Kishore Shetty had a property dispute. Vittal Shetty had ordered some goons to assault Kishore Shetty.
In the meantime Rajesh had come to Kishore Shetty's house with a tiller to plough the field. The goons mistook Rajesh for Kishore Shetty and brutally assaulted Rajesh with wooden clubs. Rajesh has been admitted to a local hospital.
The Beltangady police have registered a case in this regard.
