Mangalore, Mar 31: A tree collapsed at Karangalpady here on Monday March 31, damaging two cars that were parked there.

The cars belonged to customers of Electrical Point showroom.

A Maruti Suzuki Zen (KA 02 Z 49) was completely damaged and a Ranault Duster (KA 19 MD 6305) was partially damaged.

Locals said that two adjacent trees had been cut earlier, and a few had objected to the cutting of this particular tree. It was therefore left untouched, but today it fell all of a sudden.

A major tragedy was averted as there was no one at the spot at the time of the incident.
