Dubai, Jun 11: Last lap of the CM’s whirlwind maiden tour of the Gulf culminated in a blitzkrieg of activities. The guests and the hosts were all unanimous in declaring this visit as a land mark event which will be remembered by NRKa’s of the Gulf for years to come.
The hosting of the farewell felicitation to the visiting dignitaries was the privilege of the Dubai’s premiere community Forum, Dubai Kannada Sangha. And this was a fitting farewell to the energetic and admired CM and his high level delegates. The Indian Consulate Auditorium was the venue for this event which was held on Saturday 10th June 2006.

Events in Detail
Successfully incorporating all the above highlights in 2 hrs is a fitting tribute to the improved organization skills of the Sangha.
The programme kicked off in time at 6.30 PM with a groups song ‘ Namma Naadu Chenna’ by tiny tots which was followed by another folk song ‘ Onde Onde Karnatakavu Onde’. These renderings gave us a hint that the spell of Ranjani Suresh the Sangha is racing back to its yester year’s glory. What followed was a welcome transition to take back Sangha to it’s hey days.
Raviraj’s tribute to Dr.Rajkumar through ‘ Naada Namana’ was simply a memorable farewell to the legend of Kannada Cinema, presented in a befitting manner by rendering his all time hit numbers. Beginning with Navaaduva Nudiye Kannada Nudi ……Naviruva tanave Gandadsgudi’ and ending with ‘Aaaraadisuve……’ Raviraj took us to the world of Rajkumar. Raviraj Tantri’s & Rajesh Holla’s rendering of Rajkumar’s classic ‘Babravahana’ was an icing on the cake. And for those of us who were present in the audience eagerly waiting for CM’s arrival this was a welcome and relaxing prologue. Next, Na Mogasale scripted ‘ Kannanda Kogile…..’ a duet by Raviraj and Ranjani Suresh convinced us that an era of cultural ambience has been reborn in the milieu Sangha’s activities.
The vibrant dances by the glittering girls choreographed by Vinod Sequeira gave the momentum to the stage programme which followed.
