Vittal, Jun 11: The functioning of a New Life Centre in Salettur in Kolnad village here has led to strife among the people of other religious communities and several social organizations. Alleging forceful conversions to Christianity, several local organizations have been angered by their movements in the village.

According to the locals, the team arrived from Kerala last year and took shelter in the house of a Muslim. The religious conversion of a family which has been reported has further incensed the angered members of another religious community and there are also plans to lay a siege on the centre.

Every evening prayers are being offered by the members of the centre and on Sundays the team visits families and conducts prayer services in their houses.  The team specially visits the houses where there are sick

The centre is situated next to the Salettur Masjid and the team comprises of two women and a man.
